As with every new iPhone launch, there’s always a central feature that grabs attention, leaving other important details to emerge later. With AI advancements and new camera control buttons in the spotlight, you may still be wondering which models support fast charging. Here’s what you need to know.
iPhone 16 won’t disappoint in fast charging!
Let’s cut to the chase: There’s no need to worry. According to a new certification from the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), all iPhone 16 models will support fast charging up to 45W through the USB-C port.
This certification, spotted by ShrimpApplePro on the X platform, confirms that all iPhone 16 models have been tested between 5-15 volts and 3 amps, meaning they can charge at up to 45 watts. This is at least 50% faster than the iPhone 15 series, which maxed out at around 27-29W and never fully reached 30W.
Earlier rumors suggested that iPhone 16 models would support faster charging, but Apple never officially confirmed the wired charging speeds for the new iPhones. While Apple did mention that MagSafe can now provide up to 25W with the right power adapter, they’ve remained tight-lipped about wired charging.
This new fast-charging feature might be a compelling reason for users to upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, especially those with busy lifestyles who need their phones charged quickly. However, it’s curious why Apple hasn’t been more transparent about this improvement.
